A little treasure found in Belfast used book store for only £1.5 about an decade ago.
One of very few books I have ever read due to my short attention span.

A book was written by an outsider of the sport who go through a series of chapters about the Yates to Coleman era in bodybuilding. He touches on about the live and death of the Andreas Munzer. A honest insight into the crazy world that many consider normal.

From the publisher:

Bodybuilding is the wildest, WEIRDEST sport in the world, but it’s more than just a sport. It’s a whole way of life for the supermen who scale its Olympian heights. Muscle is a journey through a land of giants, men for whom life is given meaning by the pursuit of the perfect pec and who worship at the shrine of Schwartzenegger.
.
Jon Hotten has a 40-inch chest and 12-inch arms. Undaunted, he fights his unpromising genetics to hitch up with the bodybuilding circus, hanging out with the stars and legends, the casualties, gym rats and iron junkies. As his forbidding subjects open up, he discovers a story of unregulated excess, chemical mayhem and hard-won glory, a story for anyone who’s ever looked in the mirror and wanted.

BOOK REVIEW “Total Recall” by Arnold Schwarzenegger https://bbing.uk/book-review-total-recall-by-arnold-schwarzenegger/ https://bbing.uk/book-review-total-recall-by-arnold-schwarzenegger/#respond Sat, 13 Jun 2020 18:01:40 +0000 https://bbing.uk/?p=5981 In this book Arnie chronologically go over his live from hardship of childhood in post war Austria where he envisioned the American Dream. Discovery and journey into becoming an icon of bodybuilding, that part takes about 1/4 of the book which obviously was most interesting as expected.
Very inspirational, despite reading so much about him for years I found out many things I didn`t know.
But the book is dedicated and loved by everyone as he is a living proof that right mindset can get you anywhere you want in live.

From the publisher:

One of the most anticipated autobiographies of this generation, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Total Recall is the candid story by one of the world’s most remarkable actors, businessmen, and world leaders.

Born in the small city of Thal, Austria, in 1947, Arnold Schwarzenegger moved to Los Angeles at the age of twenty-one. Within ten years, he was a millionaire businessman. After twenty years, he was the world’s biggest movie star. In 2003, he was elected governor of California and a household name around the world.

Chronicling his embodiment of the American Dream, Total Recall covers Schwarzenegger’s high-stakes journey to the United States, from creating the international bodybuilding industry out of the sands of Venice Beach, to breathing life into cinema’s most iconic characters, and becoming one of the leading political figures of our time. Proud of his accomplishments and honest about his regrets, Schwarzenegger spares nothing in sharing his amazing story.
