Arnold Classic 2024 Open Bodybuilding:

The Arnold Classic 2024 was a fitness and bodybuilding event that took place from February 29 to March 3 in Columbus, Ohio. It featured seven divisions: Men’s Open, Classic Physique, Men’s Physique, Fitness, Bikini, Wellness, and Pro Wheelchair. The winners of each division qualified for the 2024 Mr. Olympia contest. Here are some of the notable results and achievements from the Arnold Classic 2024: – Hadi Choopan won the Men’s Open division, beating last years winner Samson Dauda and Rafael Brandao. Choopan also won the Franco Columbu Most Muscular Award while Samson received Ed Corney Best Posser Award. James Hollingshead placed fifth.

Wesley Vissers won the Classic Physique division, displaying a balanced and aesthetic physique that impressed the judges and the fans. Michael Daboul was fifth and Darren Farrell eight.

Ariel Khadr won the Fitness International title for the third consecutive year, overcoming a deficit from the physique round with her stunning routine. Michelle Fredua-Mensah placed fourth.

Francielle Mattos won the Wellness International title, defeating the defending champion Isabelle Pereira Nunes. Mattos is also the reigning three-time Wellness Olympia champion.

Lauralie Chapados won the Bikini division, edging out Jennifer Dorie and Elisa Pecini. Chapados is a former Bikini Olympia runner-up and a rising star in the division. Phoebe Hagan placed fifth.

Diogo Montenegro won the Men’s Physique division, showcasing his symmetry and conditioning. Montenegro is a veteran competitor who has been in the top five of the Mr. Olympia several times.

Rajesh John won the Pro Wheelchair division, dominating the field with his muscularity and proportions. John is a former Paralympic athlete who switched to bodybuilding in 2019.

At the end of the event, Arnold Schwarzenegger made a special announcement that the 2025 Arnold Classic will award the Open winner a staggering $500,000, exceeding the first-place prize money of the Mr. Olympia. This is a huge incentive for the bodybuilders to compete at the Arnold Classic and a sign of the growing popularity and prestige of the event.

The GymShark – The Ryan Terry British Championship – organized by 2 Bros took place on 14/15th of October in Manchester, Central.

The main event of the weekend was British Pro Championship, the first Men`s Physique Ifbb Pro League Olympia qualifier for season 2024.

Despite line up being heavy dominated by athletes from UK, it was Riccardo Croci from Italy who took home check for 2000$, second was Emile Walker who btw will meet Riccardo on stage at Olympia this November. Third went to Tyler Smith.

RESULTS: 2 Bros 10X BEN WEIDER CLASSIC UK and IFBB 1 BRO PRO

Saturday, April 8 in the Braywick Leisure Center we had first of this year UK`s NPC Pro Qualifier run by 2 Bros Pro Events called 10X Ben Weider Classic. The shows offered up to seven Pro Cards but due to the NPC rules requiring minimum number of competitors in categories only four have been given to the overall winners. As expected main contenders to the Cards were athletes who placed well at Kingdom Classic regional show two weeks prior, as well as those who done well at their national regional shows as we had number of international athletes with the likes of team Germany with Christopher Kallmeyer winner of German MB regionals in Munich on March 18th, who is well known here in UK after coming very close to overall win in bodybuilding category at the last year edition.

BODYBUILDING:

Bodybuilding overall line up consisted of middleweight Ali Albaghli, light heavyweight Jordan Gomes, Christopher Kallmeyer (who surpassed recent Kingdom Classic overall winner Carl Philbrick in heavyweight class) and super heavyweight Reece McDonald. It was Reece who went home with the sword.

CLASSIC PHYSIQUE:

In classic, overall line up consisted of Ali Albaghli from Class A, from biggest class B Luc Steinker winner of NPC Olimp Cup regionals week before in Gera – Germany. Luc came ahead of the likes of Corey Fieldhouse in that class. From class C Matthew McCullough who overcame Kingdom Classic overall champ Brandon Hinton and Alex Davies (not sure why Alex was placed in C instead of class D as two weeks ago) then from class D we had Klaus Riegler. I was very happy to find out that the lad from Belfast who I know personally took the overall, Matt McCullough who I first saw competing in 2018 in Muscle Model category came a long way with tremendous transformation in the past 2 years or so under Calum Raistrick.

MEN`S PHYSIQUE:

In board shorts category we had six open classes and to no surprises in overall we had guys who also battled at overall during Kingdom Classic and those were class A winner Sheridan Taylor, (interestingly third place finisher Ali Albaghli previously entered overalls in both classic and bodybuilding) from class B Ben Fok, Alexander Freshwater from class D and Ahmad Rabus from class E, in tallest class E this time Daniel Pollard came out with first place. In class C strong contender to the win Timothy Menyah went through a Deja Vu moment as he had exactly same situation last year – placed second, when only two weeks ago he won overall at Kingdom Classic (as well as Saxon Classic under PCA). The win in class C followed by overall went to Lewy Blackmore who later had a chance for a debut at Pro stage during 1 Bro Pro were he placed 4th.

WOMENS PHYSIQUE & BODYBUILDING:

Just like two weeks ago, the only contender in both categories was Alexandra Kokkonen she will be returning home to Australia with four sword in total and follow the appeal process for possible Pro Card to NPC.

Unfortunate strong decline of female competitor now also hit figure, there wasn’t enough athletes for NPC to award overall winner Amy Meredith the Pro Card.

BIKINI:

The most female popular category saw up to twelve athletes in class H, overall and Pro Card was awarded to Marnie Al-Saraf who won ahead of very strong contender to the win Becky West who got overall two weeks ago. Marnie later placed 4th at 1 Bros Pro show.

WELLNESS:

In wellness we saw only there ladies, Frida Nilsson won ahead of Nadia Long (who btw is girlfriend to already mentioned Matt McCullough and who stepped on stage after 6 month since having a baby) and Natalie Moncrieffe. Number of athletes wasn’t enough to award Pro Card to Frida.

To very strange and unprecedented situation went in Men’s Physique category, Polish athlete Piotr Borecki who previously won shows in both classic and 212 as well competed in Olympia in those categories decided to put on board shorts and compete in Men`s Physique. His reasoning was the fact that there was no 212 Pro Shows at the time.

RESULTS: 2 Bros Pro Event Kingdom Classic Results

The 2023 2 Bros Pro Events Kingdom Classic has come to a close, and the results are in. This year’s event was a truly interesting showcase of some the best in amateur bodybuilding from all over the UK competing for the title of the Kingdom Classic champion. In this article, we will take a closer look at the winners and the most impressive performances of the 2023 Kingdom Classic.

BODYBUILDING:

In the bodybuilding category, the winner of the overall competition was Carl Philbrick. Carl last year 3rd place finisher of the heavyweight category has put on a 5kg of extra muscle since the last year, wowing the judges with his size, definition, and symmetry. He surpassed last year winner – Reece McDonald. Reece went up a category and step on stage in most interesting busiest class of the day the Super Heavies and that class ahead of such great names as Jamie Harrison, Josh Law, Ryan Mackins and Jim Georgiou. Light Heavies went the man who`s probably the best LHW amateur in the country right now Jordan Gomes.

CLASSIC PHYSIQUE:

In the classic physique category, the overall winner was Brandon Hinton. Coming in overall was also Alex Davies and winner of biggest class class in classic Corey Fieldhouse (Corey recently came very close to achieving Pro status at Arnold Amateur in Ohio).

MENS PHYSIQUE:

In the men’s physique category, the overall winner was yet again Timothy Menyah from Team LRF. Tim won overall last year as well and he did came ahead of very strong line up in overall this yaar such as Sheridan Taylor, Ben Fok, Alex Freshwater, Ahmad Rabus and Samson Rabus.

WOMEN`S CATEGORIES:

In the women’s categories, there were several standout performers. In the figure category, the overall winner was Amy Meredith. In the bikini category, the overall winner was yet again last year winner Becky West. In the wellness category, the overall winner was Natalie Moncrieffe, who wowed the judges with her incredible curves, proportions, and overall aesthetics. Alex Kokkonen who moved back last year to Australia took Womens Physique and Bodybuilding

Overall, the 2023 2 Bros Pro Events Kingdom Classic was a great season opener giving as a teaser of what we can expect at Ben Weider on April 8th and other Pro Qualifiers.
