RESULTS: 2 Bros 10X BEN WEIDER CLASSIC UK and IFBB 1 BRO PRO

Saturday, April 8 in the Braywick Leisure Center we had first of this year UK`s NPC Pro Qualifier run by 2 Bros Pro Events called 10X Ben Weider Classic. The shows offered up to seven Pro Cards but due to the NPC rules requiring minimum number of competitors in categories only four have been given to the overall winners. As expected main contenders to the Cards were athletes who placed well at Kingdom Classic regional show two weeks prior, as well as those who done well at their national regional shows as we had number of international athletes with the likes of team Germany with Christopher Kallmeyer winner of German MB regionals in Munich on March 18th, who is well known here in UK after coming very close to overall win in bodybuilding category at the last year edition.

BODYBUILDING:

Bodybuilding overall line up consisted of middleweight Ali Albaghli, light heavyweight Jordan Gomes, Christopher Kallmeyer (who surpassed recent Kingdom Classic overall winner Carl Philbrick in heavyweight class) and super heavyweight Reece McDonald. It was Reece who went home with the sword.

CLASSIC PHYSIQUE:

In classic, overall line up consisted of Ali Albaghli from Class A, from biggest class B Luc Steinker winner of NPC Olimp Cup regionals week before in Gera – Germany. Luc came ahead of the likes of Corey Fieldhouse in that class. From class C Matthew McCullough who overcame Kingdom Classic overall champ Brandon Hinton and Alex Davies (not sure why Alex was placed in C instead of class D as two weeks ago) then from class D we had Klaus Riegler. I was very happy to find out that the lad from Belfast who I know personally took the overall, Matt McCullough who I first saw competing in 2018 in Muscle Model category came a long way with tremendous transformation in the past 2 years or so under Calum Raistrick.

MEN`S PHYSIQUE:

In board shorts category we had six open classes and to no surprises in overall we had guys who also battled at overall during Kingdom Classic and those were class A winner Sheridan Taylor, (interestingly third place finisher Ali Albaghli previously entered overalls in both classic and bodybuilding) from class B Ben Fok, Alexander Freshwater from class D and Ahmad Rabus from class E, in tallest class E this time Daniel Pollard came out with first place. In class C strong contender to the win Timothy Menyah went through a Deja Vu moment as he had exactly same situation last year – placed second, when only two weeks ago he won overall at Kingdom Classic (as well as Saxon Classic under PCA). The win in class C followed by overall went to Lewy Blackmore who later had a chance for a debut at Pro stage during 1 Bro Pro were he placed 4th.

Overall line up from left: Ahmad Rabus, Daniel Pollard, Sheridan Taylor, Lewy Blackmore, Ben Fok and Alexander Freshwater.

WOMENS PHYSIQUE & BODYBUILDING:

Just like two weeks ago, the only contender in both categories was Alexandra Kokkonen she will be returning home to Australia with four sword in total and follow the appeal process for possible Pro Card to NPC.

Unfortunate strong decline of female competitor now also hit figure, there wasn’t enough athletes for NPC to award overall winner Amy Meredith the Pro Card.

BIKINI:

The most female popular category saw up to twelve athletes in class H, overall and Pro Card was awarded to Marnie Al-Saraf who won ahead of very strong contender to the win Becky West who got overall two weeks ago. Marnie later placed 4th at 1 Bros Pro show.

WELLNESS:

In wellness we saw only there ladies, Frida Nilsson won ahead of Nadia Long (who btw is girlfriend to already mentioned Matt McCullough and who stepped on stage after 6 month since having a baby) and Natalie Moncrieffe. Number of athletes wasn’t enough to award Pro Card to Frida.

To very strange and unprecedented situation went in Men’s Physique category, Polish athlete Piotr Borecki who previously won shows in both classic and 212 as well competed in Olympia in those categories decided to put on board shorts and compete in Men`s Physique. His reasoning was the fact that there was no 212 Pro Shows at the time.

2022 BIOWELL WARSAW CUP AND FA CHAMPIONS CUP RESULTS

Past weekend October 22 & 23rd, international competition in bodybuilding and fitness took place in Marki on the outskirts of Warsaw, Poland where athletes from the NPC Worldwide and Ifbb Pro league competed in their classes.
Several athletes traveled from around the world including United Kingdom and Ireland.

It was 12th edition of the NPC Worldwide FESTIVAL which consisted of:

2022 Warsaw PRO Men`s Physique and Bikini – Olympia Qualifier

Ifbb Pro league event – Biowell Warsaw PRO consisted of two classes Bikini and Men’s Physique. In bikini gold went to IFBB Pro debutant Valeria Federenko from Ukraine, who only just earned her Pro card back in August at Amateur Olympia in Romania. Second was Stine Hansen, third Ester Oczella.
In Men`s Physique Spaniard Sidy Pouye from Team Romano won his first Pro shows ahead of Furkan Er and Abisai Pietersz.

2022 ARNOLD CLASSIC UK Preview

Arnold Classic sports festival returns to United Kingdom for the second edition.

Birmingham’s NEC will welcome the second edition of the Arnold Sports Festival UK event from 23-25 September, with the IFBB Pro league as one of the main events. Organizers originally intended to have seven categories this year, namely open bodybuilding, bodybuilding under 212 pounds, classic physique, men’s physique, figure, bikini and fitness. Shortly after announcing categories for this year Arnold Classic UK show, 2 Bros Pro Events decided to also include category that has been little bit neglected by Ifbb Pro League promoters due lesser interest, the women’s physique.
But this wasn’t the end as on 11th of august time organizers added Pro Wheelchair as well, I believe that huge part in this is thanks to Nick Hewiit who has been campaigning toward bringing wheelchair category to the 2 Bros/NPC.

Whole event will start on Friday 23rd of September and will last till Sunday 25th. On Friday we will have Arnold amateur male categories therefore above pro line ups will also include overall winners from amateur show. Saturday will host female categories plus wheelchair division, to my knowledge we should expect around fourteen athletes in that category of which winner will become a fifth pro on Sunday.

2022 2 BROS BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS

2 Bros British Championship open pro qualifier and 1 Bro Sheru Classic UK pro show.

This year`s 2 Bros British Championship took place on 30th July at Braywick Leisure Center in Maidenhead.
The event started in the morning with men’s pro qualifier followed directly with men`s physique pro show, after that it was turn for ladies pro qualifier around 5pm followed by bikini pro show.

As usual I was providing coverage on instagram story with content I was able to find with footage I was able to find.

Below overall winners who received their Pro Cards, we cannot forget about Louise Plumb who unfortunately was the only one in women’s bodybuilding category just like Gina Pestelle in fitness.

2022 NPC WORLDWIDE 2 BROS MECCA CLASSIC

NPC, 2 Bros Pro Events The Muscleworks Orpington Mecca Classic regional`s took place on 15th of May 2022 in Braywick Leisure Center.

It`s yet another event after which British and Irish athletes will be allowed to compete for the Pro Card at next pro qualifier – British Finals on 30th of July,(or any other international NPC pro qualifiers). This years British will be open to international athletes just like in 2020.

2022 Muscle Contest Ireland RESULTS

Muscle Contest 212 Pro Show

Muscle Contest Ireland 212 Pro and Pro Qualifier finally has returned to Limerick after two years absence in Ifbb Pro calendar.
Competition took place on Sunday, May 15 unfortunately on the same time there was other 212 Pro show held in States – INDY PRO resulted in having only four professionals on stage (along with the still slights uncertainty among the Pros since that show was previously being postponed/cancelled 3 times some other chose skipping this one and prepping for Portugal).

Pasquale D´Angelo, David Henry, Robert Taylor, Giuseppe Zagarella

The competing pros were Robert Taylor, David Henry as well as Italians Pasquale D’Angelo and Giuseppe Zagarella. Fairly quickly Rob and David got separated as two fighting for a top spot. David Henry, in his prime would have been consider straight winner, but now forty-five year old has the best year behind him, on other hand we had thirty five year old Rob who had a go at the two Open shows last year in Spain and Italy but decided to drop down to 212`s and do the show he initially considered as Pro Debut in 2020. Robert brought granite condition and was successful in the eyes of the judges against former Mr Olympia.

The Italians Pasquale D’Angelo and Giuseppe Zagarella were left fighting for third place. Better was Pasquale, last year eleventh at the Olympia 2021 he surpassed team Romano colleague Giuseppe, who previously competed successfully in classical physique.

RESULTS: 2022 NPC Sweden GRAND PRIX Pro Qualifier

Last weekend 16-17th of April, Sweden had its first NPC Worldwide show in Sodertalje.

Several athletes from UK and Poland traveled to Sweden in order to participate in this event.
Last one to register was Joe Ballinger who was still taking part in 2 Bros regional on Saturday to be eligible to fight for Pro Card.

What`s interesting Gasp, the main sponsor of the event brought to Sweden some of the greats Keone Pearson and Martin Fitzwater who guest posed on both days, Guy Cisternino was also present at the show. Also Giles Thomas and Lauren Lotter did commentary on the livestream.

Best results:
Gold by Becky West in bikini, same for Agnieszka Szreder in her class representing Poland, but most importantly overall win and Pro Card for Jemma Norman in Figure.

Already mention Joe came close, placing second in open bodybuilding – organizers decided to have Heavyweight and Super-heavyweight as one bigger class. Also worth mention Tomasz Petryczko won overall in bodybuilding on Saturday, Iron World Open regional event.

RESULTS: 2022 NPC 2 Bros tbJPNutrition Cup

TbJPNutrition Cup regional NPC qualifier organized by 2 Bros Pro Events took place on 16th of April.

Two weeks after Ben Weider Pro Qualifier, tbJPNutrition Cup started second leg of eight regional events that NPC members need to participate in order to take part in the pro qualifier.
With new NPC rules every athlete from “major NPC”(see rules on www.ifbbpro.com) countries have to participate in regional event within same calendar year, since there was some regional shows still at the end of the last year, late 2021 “participation” was taken under consideration for Brits until Ben Weider show which was on 2nd of April, after that onwards in order to participate in PQ everyone had to participate in regional. This sudden change of rules caused a lot of confusion for some for example Joe Ballinger took part in this show in order to take fight for pro card in Sweden next day.

This regional show was one of eight that will take place before British Championship on 30/31st of June in the meantime we also have Muscle Contest in Ireland on May 15th.

2022 10X Ben Weider NPC Pro Qualifier

Saturday 2nd of April, mark the date of the first Npc Pro Qualifier in UK for the year 2022.

Organized by 2 Bros Pro events and sponsored by 10X Athletics event took place in usual Braywick Leisure Centre.

Competition started at 9 am with men’s bodybuilding categories, I was able to put together list of competitors on a day before show with help of Dan from BBWB and knew it is going to be interesting having name in the mix such as Joe Ballinger, Andy Scott, Conna Fairbairn, Tobias Hahne, Reece McDonald, Ross Kerr, Chris Kall, Tom Hemming, Dean McKillop, Rikky Varney, Connor Redchen.

Competition was dominated by one of two athletes from Czech Republic Josef Kveton (other was Dominik Trkan in heavyweight), this could be a new name to some but I believe this was his third international show, he previously won superheavies at NPC Poland, but placed second to overall winner Mariusz Tomczuk in February 2020, then placed 3rd in his category again at NPC Poland in May last year. The 26 year old is coached by Tobias Bures (should be familiar to those who remember BGP in 2011). Notable mention goes to Chris Kall from Germany who last time did the very show in 2020 placing third in light heavies, now reached top spot in heavy division.

From other categories Craig Morton winner of recent 10X Kingdom Classic regionals continued his winning streak and went home with Pro Card in Classic, just as Robyn Shepherd in Wellness and wish I could say the same about Joanne Kelly in Physique but there was only three ladies and although she won another sword she did not get the Pro Card.
